ASDC National Automobile Olympiad is to begin for students from grades 7 to 12

The Automotive Skills Development Council (ASDC) partnered with the National Program on Career Awareness (NPOCA) for its flagship program, the ASDC National Automobile Olympiad, which began on May 31, 2022. The Automobile Olympiad is a national-level exam held by ASDC to excite school students’ interest in the automotive industry and offer them basic to advanced information.

The competition features three stages in which students from grades 7 to 12 can learn about the automobile industry. The Olympiad is held online to allow students from all boards and areas to participate.

Registration will be accessible from June 10 through July 31, 2022, and students will be able to participate through www.asdc.org.in in the Olympiad for free. The first stage results will be announced in October, and the ASDC will recognize the national winners of the Olympiad in January 2023.

“ASDC, as the Automotive Sector Skill Council, has pioneered various projects to upskill and competitively position the industry. We are always grateful to have such outstanding programs and strive to upskill and reskill the next generation for a career in the automotive sector. We also believe that such programs will play a major role in expanding industry and employment. In the current scenario, the automobile industry standard is rapidly evolving into robotics, and electric vehicles, with the electric vehicles industry expected to generate huge employment and the entire automotive industry, will become the biggest industry in next five years” ASDC’s CEO, Mr Arindam Lahiri, commented.

We are excited about our partnership with ASDC. Industry’s active participation will go a long way in strengthening India’s career education system, supporting individuals, industry, and the country to reach their developmental goals. Said Arun Mittal, Project Director – National Program on Career Awareness [NPOCA]. This is NPOCA’s 2nd collaboration with an industry organization; last year, they conducted BSE International Finance Olympiad.

The goal is to organize a campaign to raise awareness among the next generation about the automobile industry’s job choices, prospects, economic growth and environmental effect. The competition will be primarily theoretical to clarify the fundamental concepts of the industry, journey, and the necessity of the automobile sector.
