New Delhi: India and Germany recently signed a memorandum of agreement (MoA) to focus on the field of dual vocational education and training and skill development.
On Skilling India, Martin Ney, German Ambassador to India, said, “Growth must mean job for the young generation.’’
Under the MoA, students who complete specific training courses in India will get a certificate that is recognized in India and in Germany too. These students can apply for jobs in India and also in Germany.
The idea of MoA first came during an interaction between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chancellor Angela Merkel in 2015.
KP Krishnan, Secretary, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, and German Minister, Johanna Wanka, had signed a joint declaration of intent in May and the joint working group of the two governments spelled it out in October.
