HRD Minister Ramesh Pohkriyal laid the foundation stone for the new integrated CBSE campus at Dwarka, Delhi. The integrated complex of the CBSE is stated to be a green building that focuses on the energy, water, and environmental conservation.

Along with providing the different training sessions to the teachers and principals of its affiliated schools with the help of functioning centres of excellence, the CBSE has also established 16 regional offices at Ajmer, Allahabad, Bangalore, Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi East and West, Dehradun, Guwahati, Noida, Patna, Panchkula, Pune and Thiruvananthapuram.

The CBSE also has a vocational examination unit at Preet Vihar, an Academic and Skills Education Unit at Rouse Avenue, and a Regional Office and CTET Unit at Patparganj, Delhi along with the CBSE headquarters in Delhi.

With an aim to maintain coordination among the different branches and units of the board in Delhi and to respond to the increasing challenges due to the number of CBSE affiliated schools the board has earlier proposed the creation of an integrated office complex in Delhi. For the same purpose, a three acres plot was purchased from the Delhi Development Authority at Sector 23 Dwarka, Delhi.

The integrated campus building proposed will be a state of the art building which will fulfill the green building norms. Some of the features incorporated in the building include an efficient building management system that will help in energy conservation.

It is also reported that solar panels that will produce 300 kWh of electricity will be installed on the roof of the building. A sewage treatment plant is also proposed to be used in toilets and the reuse of the gray water in landscaping. These facilities will also contribute to environmental protection. The security features have also been taken care of with respect to the design of the building. The 12,000 sq meter building is estimated to be completed within 24 months approximately.
