New Delhi: Usually, nursery admissions in around 1,700 schools in the Capital begin in the last week of November. The Directorate of Education releases guidelines and schools are asked to furnish required information, following which the application process is rolled out in December. However, there had been no development on it in 2020, owing to the coronavirus crisis.
In December, Delhi government officials had said that a proposal to scrap nursery admissions was being considered, given that the schools had been closed for nine months due to the coronavirus pandemic, and will remain closed till a vaccine is available. A whole year of online learning for small children seems unviable, they had said.
As per the official schedule released by the Directorate of Education in Delhi, the Delhi nursery admissions 2021 are all set to begin from February 18, 2021, for the upcoming academic session. The directorate has also started the preparation for the admissions process.

This year, the admissions process for nursery class in Delhi schools is being conducted completely online, due to the ongoing pandemic situation. All the private schools in Delhi have been asked to submit the details for admissions by February 15 to the Education Department.
During the admission process, parents can enroll their children in KG and class 1 as well as nurseries in private schools across Delhi. Around 1700 schools in Delhi will be starting the nursery admissions process in their premises.
The last day to submit the application forms for admissions into these three classes in Delhi private schools is March 4, 2021. As per the guidelines, the child must attain four years of age for nursery, five years for KG. The child must be less than six years for class one by March 31.
