New Education Policy may adversely affect unaided CBSE Schools : National Council

Kochi: The National Council of CBSE Schools  has expressed concern over the draft new education policy which may adversely affect the unaided CBSE-affiliated schools.

The National Council consisting of representatives of 22 states submitted a memorandum to Human Resource Development Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal on Friday seeking steps to allay their concerns.

National Council member Indira Rajan said that the memorandum suggested capacity building programme for teachers and highlighted the problems regarding the Right To Education Act 2009.

The schools faced problems over certificate of recognition and examination and the new affiliation bylaws 2018. The memorandum called for avoiding the discrimination among the students affiliated to various boards of education.

The minister promised to look into the issues, including fast-tracking the process of renewal of affiliation.
